Not your typical classroom portable. How about one that’s more green and affordable? This is an artist’s rendering of one possible portable.

Ecotrope had a chance to check out DePave’s project at James John Elementary School in Portland, where they removed blacktop from the playground to replace it with a rain garden or bioswale to reduce stormwater runoff.

It’s not that hard to compost and recycle correctly. I think people are just lazy.

If ever the world needed Outdoor School, it is now. The economic problems are overshadowing everything, but we’re headed down the road to destruction if we can’t get together and educate ourselves.
